Located on the Monterey Peninsula, this course is rated one of the most difficult in the world. Spyglass has two distinct terrains - the first five roll through sandy dunes while the rest of the holes are cut through majestic pines with strategically placed ponds and bunkers.
Located on Hilton Head Island, this course is a yearly stop for the PGA tour. This tight layout, with its overhanging mossy trees, demands straight and long tee shots. A great course capped off with the most famous lighthouse in golf.
Designed by Arthur Hills and rated #8 in the top 100 courses by Golf Magazine, Bay Harbor's shoreline along Lake Michigan forms the backdrop for this incomparable beauty. The back nine, known as "The Quarry", winds through an immense shale quarry, complete with a 40 foot gorge, stone cliffs, natural ponds and a gentle waterfall.
The Old Course at St. Andrews is the oldest golf course in the world. It is a public course over common lad in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland. One of the unique features of the Old Course is the large double greens. The Swilcan Bridge, spanning the 1st and 18th holes, has become a famous icon for golf in the world.
Having hosted the 2007 US Women's Open, Pine Needles offers quite the challenge. This long and undulated course has very large greens with very subtle yet dramatic breaks. Pine Needles is one of the many courses in the Pinehurst collection.
The course was originally named "The Executive Golf Club" and was initially intended to be part of a series of Executive Golf Clubs around the country. However, the name was not favorable and the other clubs did not materialize. The founders decided to call the new course Hazeltine National Golf club in honor of the adjoining Lake Hazeltine. The course opened for play to club members in 1962.
Typically comprised of two 18-hole courses (River and Meadow Valleys) Blackwolf Run returned to its original single-course configuration for the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open. During the championship, the players competed on the Original Championship Course — the same one that made Blackwolf Run famous more than 20 years ago.
Opened in 1936, it was designed by Bethpage State Park superintendent Joseph H. Burbeck. It is the most difficult of Bethpage's five courses, and is known for the warning sign at the first tee, placed in the early 1980s, which reads "The Black Course Is An Extremely Difficult Course Which We Recommend Only For Highly Skilled Golfers".
